“Get Wisdom” – Disciple Now 2010
“How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” – Proverbs 16:16 ESV
“Students in today’s world are faced with numerous choices for entertainment, relationships, social activities and much more. Things such as standards for purity, holiness, righteousness as well as questions regarding salvation and attitudes towards one another and God are all clearly displayed and magnified throughout the pages of Scripture. But what about those choices that aren’t always so black and white. How should students think about such things as future school decisions, relationship intricacies, personal habits and other meaningful life decisions? Rather than seek right or wrong answers, students should get wisdom. During this year’s Disciple Now weekend, students will dwell within the pages of Proverbs and glean from its depths of wisdom. Each student will be encouraged to find applicational thoughts from Proverbs as it relates directly to their lives and the decisions that they will make. We’ll spend time in groups discussing possible life scenarios, past decisions and their consequences and how a life of wisdom can lead one into greater levels of godliness. Students will be asked to serve in scenarios where wisdom is encouraged and in environments where students can witness wisdom working in real-life. We’ll conclude with a message from a speaker who has lived through hard decisions where wisdom has been the backbone and from where lessons of wisdom have been learned and applied. This weekend, the goal for students is to walk away with at least one applicational thought from Proverbs to apply to their life and acquire an overall greater desire to get wisdom. Cost: $30 per student + misc. food items for host homes (1 2liter of your favorite drink, snacks for Friday/Saturday night)

This is a great event to bring one or two friends on board who may or may not attend church.

NOTE: Payment can be done online by clicking here and fillling in DNOW2010 in the "Other" box. Cash and check payments will be accepted anytime prior to the event or at Friday night dropoff. A new 2010 medical release form is REQUIRED for this event. You can choose to download it here, print it off and bring with you or fill one out at the Friday night dropoff at The Ridge. All students must have a completed and signed medical release.
