Matthew: The Temptation of Christ

The longer you look at Jesus the more you will want to serve Him in His world. That is, of course, if it's the real Jesus you're looking at. Plenty of people in the church and outside it have made up a different Jesus for themselves, an invented character who makes few real demands on them. He makes them feel happy from time to time, but does not challenge them. He does not suggest they get up and do something about the plight of the world - something the real Jesus had an uncomfortable habit of doing. Our desire is to take a long look at the real Jesus in our current teaching series is in Matthew’s Gospel. Our desire is to learn more about Jesus through the record of His life and teaching, knowing Him more intimately, that we would live for Him more passionately.

Matthew: The Savior and His Dad

This week we continue our teaching series in Matthew’s Gospel. Our desire is to learn more about Jesus through the record of His life and teaching, knowing Him more intimately. This Sunday we look at the birth of Jesus through Matthew's look into God's dealing with Joseph. The incarnation is greatly debated and most important to Christianity. As we gather to worship this week our focus is Jesus, the Word who became flesh.

Matthew: Family Tree of Grace

This week we begin a new teaching series in Matthew's Gospel. As Matthew begins his gospel writing he gives Jesus the titles of Messiah, the son of David and the son of Arbaham, as he moves into Jesus' ancestry. It is more than just a list of names, but literally a family tree of the King of Kings, which those who by grace through faith in Him have been grafted into. What a Savior and what a joy to begin this journey through this sacred text.

Colossians: A Devoted Life of Ministry

Today we conclude our journey through Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae. Once Paul becomes a new creation his life is devoted to the gospel ministry. As he writes his closing remarks to the Colossians he urges them to be devoted to a life of ministry as well. Today we see the importance of prayer, evangelism, a godly lifestyle, a gracious tongue and fellowship. May these be more than just mere closing remarks, but truly influential words to train us up in righteousness for God’s glory and your joy.

Colossians: Relationships by the Book Pt. 2

This week we continue in Paul's letter to the church at Colossae. Paul continues to address what redeemed relationships should look like as he speaks to the new creation's work relationships. God places us each in different spheres of influence and our place of work is an important sphere that God has placed us in to represent His name for His glory.

Family Worship: Hear, See and Think

God has given children to parents as a great gift. Parents are commanded by God to equip and disciple these special gifts. Thousands of years ago God called the leaders of their homes to listen up and hear His words and do them. He called the parents of the home to shape their children so they would see the world rightly. He wanted them to have a biblical worldview. To do that God knew that parents would need to speak the Word of God to their children each day, so that their thinking would be changed to be aligned with God’s commands. This mandate given thousands of years ago is still the calling of parents who love and follow the Lord today. May you be challenged today to hear and do, to see and shape, and lastly to think and speak.
