The Heart of Obedience
Speaker: Coleman Ford Series: The Heart of a Disciple Topic: Obedience Passage: 1 Peter 1:13–25
Obedience is not a concept that our culture loves to embrace. Obedience speaks to commitment and accountability. While obedience is not an appealing idea, it is a important facet to the life of a disciple. Those who belong to Jesus desire to obey God’s command. Having a heart of obedience, for the Christian, is never divorced from the recognition of Christ’s work on our behalf. Obedience for the Christian is a joy-filled exercise of growing in our affections for God and his commands. This week we'll look at how Peter describes this heart of obedience in 1 Peter 1:13-25 based on the redemptive work of God in Christ.
