What if Christmas looked different this year?  What if it wasn’t about all the gifts, going to the mall or the rushing around from here to there?  We want to invite you to rethink Christmas with us this year and to experience it for what it was meant to be.

On Sunday, November 28 Advent begins.  Advent is the anticipation-filled season of celebrating Jesus’ birth and His coming again.  You could call Jesus a trader, as He came from heaven to earth trading the glory of heaven to make this earth His dwelling place.  He laid His rights and privileges aside to become a servant.  He traded His life for ours in becoming obedient to death on a cross.  What a great exchange made possible, as He bears the sin of mankind on the cross making freely available His righteousness.  He then rose from the grave victorious over death.  He is now highly exalted above every name bearing the name, Lord.  It is with hope, peace, love and joy we worship Jesus this season, as the Lord, who is coming again to receive His church unto Himself.

With Jesus as the greatest trader of all in view, what if we traded in the idea of pursuing and chasing the things of the world and traded in those pursuits to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness?  This is the call to those of the kingdom of God.  We are called to trade in a life of chasing after earthly treasures and instead chase after the heart of God.  What are we willing to trade to put our faith into action for the kingdom of God? What tangible and permanent exchange is God calling you to make this Advent season?  God is looking for a mighty minority of traders to show Him strong.
