Bible Reading: 1 John 3.1-3

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:1-3

Just pause for a moment and think, “How much God loves you.” From the beginning of scripture, we see God’s great love for man. He placed man in a beautiful garden to live and tend. He provided all the essentials for an abundant life with Him. David said, God knows each of us even while we are in our mothers wombs.

In these short verses, John reminds us: 1) Of God’s love for each one of us individually, 2) That we are His children (implied because of His grace and faith), and 3) Hope, that when Christ comes, we will be like Him as we are His brother or sister.

Is Christ your brother? Have you taken that first step of transformation? Paul said, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For those that have taken this first step, then how’s your transformation going? Have you graduated from milk to steak? Let us all continue in the journey of transformation until we are all like Christ when He comes again.

Weekly Memory Verse: Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.  1 John 2.28
