February 3 | The Gospel of Christ Is Life
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15.3-4

Reading: 1 Corinthians 15

The Apostle Paul draws the attention of the Corinthians to the gospel, the evangelion.  It means good news of the Kingdom of God and the good news of salvation through the works of Jesus Christ.  The gospel is good news and the good news about the gospel is that we get God.  God is the gospel.  We, who before believing in Christ, were separated from Him, but now can have an intimate ongoing relationship with Him forever.  It allows once enemies of God to now be intimate friends with God through Christ.  This is the gospel – we get God!  Let us cling to the gospel for everything we need in this life.

Prayer:  Lord, what an amazing gift – the gospel!  Thank you, Jesus for dying, raising and ascending.  Thank you for Your sacrificial work for me and all who would believe.  Help me to love the gospel like the Apostle Paul and to have it as first importance in my life.  Help me to know that the gospel is everything I need for this life and beyond.
