Love God: Deuteronomy 6.5; Matthew 6.24; 10.37, Luke 14.26; Revelation 2.4-5
We are to love God more than anything or anyone else. We are to have no rival gods. We are called to abandon all other attachments. We are to love Him supremely.

Follow Jesus: Matthew 4.18-22; 9.9; 19.16-29; Luke 9.57-62; I Corinthians 4.16;Philippians 3.17; Romans 14.19; I Thessalonians 5.15; 2 Timothy 2.22; Hebrews 12.14; Luke 9.23; Romans 6.5-13; I Corinthians 2.2; Galatians 2.20; Philippians 3.7-11; Hebrews 13.7
The cross of Christ was painful, but essential. At the cross we see Jesus' submission and obedience to the Father. Jesus' disciples are called to the same life of sacrifice, to submit and obey Him. This was the way of the cross and this is the life that we are called to as Christ's followers

Know Truth: Deuteronomy 30.16; Psalm 119.9-11; John 8.31-32; 15. 1-11; 2 Timothy 3.16-17; Hebrews 4.12; 5.11-14; James 1.23-25; Acts 4.13; Ephesians 4.11-16
The Bible is the foundational element to the life of a disciple. It is from the Bible that one learns all that God desires from His followers. It is through the Bible that God speaks to us, so that we can know Him and love Him.  The church is to be growing into a mature man (to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ) and the Word of God is the foundational element to such an end.

Deny Self: Matthew 16.24; Mark 8.34; Luke 9.23; Romans 7.14-24; Galatians 5.16-23
A disciple is called to deny himself. Too often our needs are primary and we want to be at the center of everything. We must not give into the temptation into thinking it is about my individual needs. We must say no to ourselves.

Faithful Stewardship: Matthew 19.16-26; Luke 14.15-33; 16.1-13; 1 Corinthians 6.19-20; 4.1-2
Disciples recognize that God owns everything and that He has called them to be faithful stewards."He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." Jim Elliot

Love Others: John 13.34-35; 1 Timothy 1.5; 1 John 4.7-21; 1 Corinthians 13.1-8; Ephesians 4.2,15,32; Romans 13.8; John 13.14; Mark 9.50; Romans 12.10; 15.7; 16.16; 1 Corinthians 7.5; 1 Corinthians 12.25; Galatians S.13; 6.2; Philippians 2.3; 1 Thessalonians 4.18; 1 Thessalonians 4.18; 5.15; Hebrews 3.13;10.24; James 5.16;1 Peter 5.5
Followers of Christ are called to love and serve others. This is how the world will know we are Christ's disciples.
