Cruciformity

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Week of Prayer Topic: Discipleship Passage: Galatians 2:20–2:20

[cruciformity] conformity to the crucified Christ

As Christians we cannot move away from the cross and the crucifixion of Christ.  The preaching of the cross dominated the life of the apostle Paul and those in the early church.  The work and spiritual reality of Christ’s crucifixion should impact our lives as well.  The invitation of the gospel is to come by faith and spiritually participate with Jesus in His crucifixion and His victory over sin and death.  For those who trust in Christ for salvation can say with the apostle Paul I have been crucified with Christ.  Not only that, but disciples of Christ are to have their lives continually being conformed to the crucified Christ.  Today as we wrap up the week of prayer we look at what it means to live the crucified life in a world full of selfishness, self-indulgence and self-fulfillment.
