Matthew: The Intentionality of God's Community
Series: Matthew's Gospel: The King and His Kingdom Topic: Kingdom of God Passage: Matthew 14:22–14:36
Purpose always surrounds the life of Jesus. He never does anything accidently. There was always intentionality on His part. The same should be true of God’s people if we are obediently following our Master. We are to intentionally follow His plan and never depart from it.
Our Pastor has laid out the plan for our church as given to us by Christ. We are to intentionally SEE the people needing a Savior; intentionally LOVE them when compassion doesn’t always come easy; intentionally PRAY for them and then purposefully WORK in God’s Kingdom.
In our text today we are going to learn what this looks like as we study the community of 12 followers who do what Jesus commands, run into head-winds, and watch as a leader walks on water with uneven results. But in the end, God is worshipped and glorified because the goal of salvation comes to many. And, it’s all intentional.
