On Top of the World

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: iWitness Topic: Witness Passage: Acts 1:9–11

Acts 1.9-11: We’ve heard the phrase, I’m on top of the world. This is usually the response of someone who has just experienced something great. Whether it is hoisting up the NCAA National Championship trophy on Monday night, to a young man hearing her say, “yes” to his marriage proposal or to welcoming a child into the world we know the feeling of being on top of the world. But Jesus has done something that puts us on top of the world even though the world may seem to be on top of us. The ascension of Jesus doesn’t get as much air time as His crucifixion and resurrection, but His ascension is big time. Today, we will unpack what the ascension of Jesus means, how it impacts us and issues in our world, including the issue of life on this Sanctity of Life Sunday.
