Filling the City with Jesus

Acts 5.12-32: As we continue to look at the book of Acts today, we see the ongoing influence of the church. The church is to be influential. What kind of influence do we have? What is our influence pointing to? The church in Jerusalem started small in number, but their influence was great and God started a movement that was big and unstoppable. The influence of the church was spirit-empowered with the purpose of giving life. The outcome was Jerusalem being filled with the teaching of Jesus, who gives life. Such influence comes with a price. It will cost just as it did with the apostles. But in the midst of it all God wants our obedience no matter the cost, so that the message of life will fill our spheres of influence.
