Be and Do

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Table Talk Topic: Obedience Passage: James 1:19–27

James 1.19-27: What does your table look like at home? Is there a lot of listening going on or just a lot of talking? The table can be the place of both. Today, in the book of James we are encouraged to listen. Sure we will talk, but as it has been said before, “we have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen twice as much as we speak”. James moves from telling us who God is and who we are to now living a life that lives in harmony with those truths. So, how are we going to respond to a life full of trials and temptations as believers? Well James answers that today. Important to that is the Word of God. We must hear, receive and obey the Word of God, so that produced is a life of purity and a life that loves others. So, let us put into practice what we profess to believe.
