Jesus Loves Sinners

Luke 5.27-39: Jesus is a missionary. He came from the culture of heaven with angels to the culture of earth with sinners. He loves sinners and we see in today’s text that He loved one of the most hated types of people in the culture of His day. Tax collectors were despised by others, but the very ones Jesus came for. Today we learn from Jesus and from a tax collector who has his life changed. We see truly a pattern of discipleship that we as disciples are to imitate. Let us follow Jesus and the example set by a former cheater and extortionist.
