Our Good Father and Prayer
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Luke: Treasuring Jesus Topic: Prayer Passage: Luke 11:1–13
Luke 11.1-13: The teaching in the present section of Luke’s gospel gives help to disciples who need to learn how to pray and encouragement that God will hear and answer their prayers. As followers of Jesus we are always learning. We are to have a teachable spirit. The disciples’ request for instruction on how to pray resulted in Jesus telling them where their focus should be while praying. Our focus is to be on the Father and Jesus instructs us how to pray to Him. Jesus shows us as we pray how the Father desires to answer and gives us good gifts and the best of all the Holy Spirit. As we learn about prayer today, we learn about our Father and His desire for us to be filled with this Holy Spirit. What a good Father we have.
