40 For 40: Nehemiah and the Wall

Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: 40 FOR 40 Topic: Faith Passage: Nehemiah 1 :1– 6 :16

As we continue our series, 40 For 40, we look at another great classic, Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem.  The building project that Nehemiah takes on is a great task, but God's hand is upon Him.  The walls around Jerusalem mean a lot and are important to the city, but something even more important is being built in this great work.  Faith is being built.  Through the opposition and the task God is building faith in the people rebuilding the wall.  Just as the walls of Jerusalem were broken and needing rebuilt so are the lives of so many in our cities.  Let us take on the great task of ministry in our cities for the glory of God and bring the hope of Christ into the brokenness that just as walls were rebuilt thousands of years ago in Jerusalem so might lives be rebuilt on the sure foundation of Jesus Christ.
