Isaiah: Two Cities, One Hope
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Isaiah: Hope Topic: Judgment, Mercy, Sin Passage: Isaiah 24:1–23
How do we see the world? In Isaiah 24, we are encouraged to live as aliens and strangers on earth, looking ahead to a "city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God" (Hebrews 11.10). There truly is two cities and one hope. The city of man will be destroyed by the judgments of God. The city of God will never fall and will last forever and those whose hope is in Jesus Christ will delight in His glory forever. Let us not take delight in the fleeting pleasures of the world, but instead in the unending pleasures of God (Psalm 16.11).
