Race and Jesus
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Standalone Sermon, Not Part of a Series Topic: Racial Harmony Passage: Ephesians 2:11–22
I do not watch cable news much at all. This week I saw more than I usually do. There are a few words to sum up what I saw: barriers, division, enmity, hate and hostility. As the church, we should not be surprised by what we hear and see, but it crushes me when I see it aimed at one of another race or ethnicity. Racism is offensive and especially to God. It will be with us until Jesus returns, so how do we respond to the reality of it in our world. Ignoring it or being colorblind is not the answer. God has something to say about it and how we as the church are to live together in racial harmony.
