40 for 40 Christmas Classics 16x9

Each week of Advent we will have a focus:  This week’s focus is “God our Maker”.
Reading: Genesis 1.1-31

Christmas is an incredible story of God laying aside the splendor of His majesty, and coming to be Immanuel - God With Us. Fully God. Fully man. In the world, but not of this world.

The God who made the world, now working His plan to make all things new, again. Christmas reminds us that the worries of this world are not greater than the One who made it all.

The Christ child, was brought into this world in an animal stable, in an impoverished town, during a season of conflict, under the rule of an evil King.  These circumstances were not at all how most people would have expected a King to make His entrance.

But, that’s how the prophesies were fulfilled, as God intended them to be. The last shall be first. The least will be the greatest.

The same God we know as The Maker of the Heavens and Earth, is the same great God who makes peace in difficult situations.

He makes a way when there seems to be no way.  That’s the story of Christmas. That’s the story of the gospels.  The making of an unlikely plan to redeem and restore humanity.

Our hope is in God Our Maker - who has invited us to join Him in Making all things New.

Memory Verse: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1.1-3
