We are so excited that you are interested in church membership. We encourage you to do two things to help this process.
First, talk with Lead Pastor, Jerry Witham after service on Sunday. He is always in the foyer and would be thrilled to discuss this with you.
Second, keep your eye out for the next Membership Interest class. The Membership Interest Class is a 20 minute teaching on membership at The Ridge. Below are some of the items discussed:
Qualifications for Membership
Each potential new member must:
1) Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be baptized.
2) Agree with the essential beliefs of The Ridge Church (see Our Beliefs).
3) Complete the church’s Membership classes.
4) Share their story of faith in Jesus and plans with an Elder.
5) Be presented to the church on a Sunday morning.
Expectations of a Member
At The Ridge Church we desire members to commit themselves to the Lord and to other members through the following:
- Faithfully attending (Hebrews 10:25)
- Living as a commited follower of Christ (Luke 9:23)
- Committing to community with other members (Acts 2:42)
- Following leadership (John 21:15-16)
- Praying for the church's health and impact (1 Thessalonians 1:1-3)
- Welcoming guests (Romans 15:7)
- Praying for the salvation of others (1 Timothy 2:1, 4)
- Sharing your faith with others (1 Peter 3:15)
- Affirming and committing your life to the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Being equipped (Ephesians 4:11-13)
- Discover and use your gifts and talents (1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 4:11-12)
- Giving graciously with joy (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
- Seeking to grow in maturity (Hebrews 5:12-14)
- Handling conflict Biblically (Romans 12:18, Matthew 7:3-5, Galatians 6:1, Matthew 18:15-17)
