Immorality, The Church and The World
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Gospel in Life Topic: Christ and Culture Passage: 1 Corinthians 5:1–13
What a mess Corinth was! Sin was obviously the disease in Corinth and ultimately and universally it is as well. You cannot escape it or defeat it on your own. Look around, just as it marked Corinth, you see it everywhere, leaving brokenness in its path. As Paul Tripp says about sin, It complicates what is already complicated. Sin distorts our identity, alters our perspective, derails our behavior, and kidnaps our hope. But, this is exactly the place where God’s Spirit built this beautiful mess of a church. It was not perfect and all tidied up, but this is exactly the place and people that God wanted to use to bring hope to the world and so, it is today with us. Today we look at immortality, the church and its response to sin within and outside the church.
