Advent: An Unexpected Christmas

Christmas is a great time to rehearse the surprising twists and stunning turns of God Himself being born as man. For the church, we refer to this season leading up to Christmas as Advent. Advent begins on November 26. Advent is derived from the Latin word which means "coming" or “arrival”. Advent is the season that celebrates the humble coming of Jesus into the world and looks with eager anticipation to His second coming in glory. This Advent, as we wait with expectant hope let us look at that first Christmas that was filled with the unexpected.
