Ready and Bold Witnesses

Luke 24.36-53: God’s plan cannot be stopped (Job 42.2).  He is an unstoppable God and we saw that on Easter Sunday in Jesus’ victory over death by raising from the grave.  Today, we see that God’s plan continues as the disciples are commissioned as witnesses of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus to take the gospel to the nations.  As Jesus ascends to heaven they are not left alone, but fully equipped with all they need to be witnesses of Jesus.  Just as they are commissioned so are we to be Spirit empowered witnesses.  The disciples move from being frightened and doubtful to being ready and bold for Jesus.  Are we ready and bold witnesses?  Let us be encouraged to be so today.
