Captivated By The Greatnesses of God
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Sacred Psalms Topic: Glory of God Passage: Psalm 36:1–12
What captivates you? Throughout the psalms the writers pen words of how they have been captivated by God and His greatness. Today, we look at Psalm 36 and at one of David’s many psalms that speak of his experience of being captivated by God. He does so with contrasting the righteous and wicked. We see that in a few places in the psalms. In fact, this book of prayers and songs starts that way in Psalm 1 with the contrasting of the righteous and wicked. David does that in Psalm 36, but it is a little different in that he paints the picture of the wicked and then gives a powerful contrast with a beautiful picture of the greatness of God. Then he gives a prayer for the righteous to continue to be captivated by God and His greatness instead of the evil of this world. Let us be captivated by the greatness of God.
