Matthew: Taking Serious our Citizenship in the Kingdom Community
Speaker: Jerry Witham Series: Matthew's Gospel: The King and His Kingdom Topic: Kingdom of God Passage: Matthew 18:5–18:14
Matthew 18.5-14: Last week we learned that citizens of the kingdom of God are servants with a humble heart, attitude and life. As we continue in Matthew’s Gospel today, we see the importance of taking serious our citizenship as humble servants in the community of the church. We are called as humble disciples to accept and welcome other disciples into fellowship instead of causing them to stumble because of our arrogance, pride and sin. We must take great concern with our conduct around others, so we don’t cause them to go astray. May we be encouraged today to live a humble and encouraging life before others that they may be encouraged to live for the glory of God.
